DotGolf has developed a new feature that allows visitors to pay for green fees by scanning a QR Code. This feature is especially useful for golf clubs when they are not open, as it provides an alternative payment method for visitors. By scanning the QR code with their phone, visitors are directed to a Green Fee Payment portal where they can easily select and pay for their green fees.
This QR Code payment feature is available to any Golf Club in New Zealand. If your club is interested in using this feature, you can contact DotGolf Support to activate it for your club. Simply email the required details to support@dotgolf.freshdesk.com. Once activated, the club will receive instructions on how to print the QR code, which can then be displayed at any location in the club.
The QR Code payment feature is particularly useful when the club is unattended. It can be used as an additional payment method alongside existing methods like the cash honesty box or as an alternative to other unattended payment methods. Visitors can simply scan the QR Code, access the payment portal, and conveniently pay for their green fees.
To activate the QR Code payment feature, clubs need to provide certain information to DotGolf.
- Golf Club
- Contact Name
- Contact Number
- Bank Account Number
- Green Fees
If the club already uses DotGolf for Golf Operations, the green fees will be automatically populated from the system. However, if the club doesn't use DotGolf Golf Operations, a list of green fees needs to be provided for selection on the app. Once the necessary information is received, DotGolf will activate the QR code for the club, allowing them to print and display it.
If a club wants to change their Green Fees, they can easily do so in the Settings section of the Clubhouse. DotGolf can also assist with any green fee setup to ensure it is correctly configured for the QR Code payment feature.
Green fees collected through the QR Code payment feature are paid to the club on a weekly basis. The income is transferred to the club's nominated bank account number. Additionally, clubs have access to a reconciliation report that provides details on all green fees collected. This report can be found in the Reports section of the system.
The QR Code Green Fee Payment feature is available to all golf clubs at no monthly cost. Of the fees collected through the QR Code, 95% of the green fee is paid to the club. The remaining 5% covers the following expenses:
- Merchant Account fees: DotGolf absorbs all merchant account fees associated with online transactions, eliminating the need for the club to have its own online merchant account.
- Windcave account fees: Windcave is the provider for secure online transactions, and DotGolf covers all the transaction fees associated with it.
- Bank Credit Card transaction fees: DotGolf absorbs all credit card transaction fees that apply to online transactions.
In summary, 95% of the transaction goes to the club, and payments are transferred to the club's bank account on a weekly basis.
