How to use Snowflake data in Datasets

Kurtosys Datasets integrates with Snowflake, allowing you to utilize data from Snowflake within the Kurtosys platform. This data can be utilized independently or in conjunction with data stored in Kurtosys, enabling you to populate tables for documents created using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office.

    Snowflake Data Adapters

To access your Snowflake data through Kurtosys, you can configure a Data Adapter in Kurtosys. If you need to include data from multiple Snowflake accounts, you can configure multiple Data Adapters.

Creating a Dataset with Snowflake Data

Once your Data Adapters are configured you can query your Snowflake data through Kurtosys Datasets.

Tip: When you're creating a dataset, it's important to gather all the necessary tables in one document and separate them as individual queries within the dataset. This approach not only boosts efficiency during document production, but also ensures that all queries are executed just once, resulting in a single dataset with all the pertinent data.

    Creating a Dataset

Creating a Dataset is the first step in querying your data from Snowflake. This will show you how to name your Dataset and set up the inputs that will drive your dataset dynamically.

Adding a Snowflake Source to your Dataset

Your Dataset Sources are where your data is coming from. Each Dataset can have multiple Sources, ranging from entity related data, commentaries or disclaimers in Kurtosys to Snowflake Views.
