The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is a crucial and long-established element of the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights strategy for implementing and enforcing civil rights laws. These laws prohibit discrimination based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, and age by schools, school districts, and other entities that receive Federal financial assistance from the Department.
PowerSchool Administrators, School Leaders, and registrars will undertake various tasks throughout the school year to ensure the accurate submission of CRDC data across all areas within and beyond the PowerSchool SIS. For example, if the current school year is 2023-2024, the U.S. Department of Education will seek data from the 2021-2022 school year. Typically, schools have stored this data in anticipation of such requirements. To locate previous year's stored data, search Let's Work Smart (LWS) submissions.
