Norsk Studio offers multiple deployment options to suit your needs. This guide covers:
Cloud SaaS solutions: Ready to use in minutes with our turnkey options
Bring-your-own-license deployments: For custom cloud and infrastructure setups

Before you beginYou can run a fully-featured free trial version of Norsk Studio on your own hardware or in your own cloud account. You'll need to download a trial license first.

Alternatively, you can run Norsk Studio on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) without a separate license.
Licensing is included with Norsk Studio via Google Cloud Marketplace, so there is no need to purchase a license (or get a free trial license) directly from Norsk. This makes GCP one of the fastest ways to launch a new studio instance.
Please note that the cost is $0.66 per hour, and you will incur additional infrastructure usage charges from GCP, which will vary depending on the types of workloads you run on Norsk Studio. You will need a Google Cloud Platform account with payment information set up (or free compute credits from Google).

Starting and stopping Norsk Studio from command lineNorsk offers a default setting for its EncodeLadder component, which has been tested on selected instances. For example, the default EncodeLadder on our default Google Cloud instance [8 vCPUs + 32 GB memory (e2-standard-8)] uses about 65-70% CPU.
You will have to try your workflows running on various machine types, and monitor the System Metrics to find a balance between performance and cost that suits your exact needs.
