Language support

  • InstabaseInstabase

AI Hub apps can process documents written in many languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu.

Language support varies:

  • Some languages work out of the box, others need configuration.

  • Support for printed documents is broader than support for handwritten documents.

  • Support sometimes differs depending on whether documents are in a text-based format (like TXT or PDF) or an image-based format (like JPG or PNG).

Due to these factors and ongoing AI model development, the guides in this series don’t give configuration settings for specific languages. Instead, they discuss the purpose of each setting so you can experiment to find the best configuration for your document languages and types.

Note: these guides interact with documents via Chat, but the same language settings apply to Build and other AI Hub apps.

Note: Enabling any language configuration options may increase processing time, but won’t affect consumption unit cost.
