1. Introduction

This guide is designed to help learners access and use the PMI Partner Platform and the learning resources made available through their organization.

The PMI Partner Platform provides eligible users with access to PMI certifications, memberships, and online learning materials assigned by their employer or organization. Once you have redeemed a product, it will be available through your myPMI profile.

This guide is intended specifically for learners. Administrative tasks, such as user management, reporting, and product assignment, are managed by your organization's administrator and are not covered in this guide.

2. Accessing the Partner Platform

To access the platform, you will need a PMI account.  You can create a new account if you don't have one, or login to your existing account if you do.

There are two ways to access the platform:

  1. Access by invitation

  2. Access by company URL

Access by Invitation

An email invitation will be sent to the email address invited by your administrator.  To access, click the button found in the email.

Example invitation email sent by your organization's administrator

You will now be asked to login if you are not already.  Here you can either login to any existing PMI account or register a new account.

User tip: PMI only authorizes you to have one PMI account at a time, if you can't remember your login, try to fetch your account.

As part of the sign-in process, you may be asked to verify your email address using a one-time verification code. Enter the six-digit code sent to your email address and select Continue to complete the verification process.

Lastly, when accessing for the first time, you will be prompted to opt-in or opt-out of data sharing (for more information, see next section).

Access by Company URL

If you lost your email invite or if your organization set up a domain (if applicable) you can access directly via a company URL provided by your administrator.  When accessing this URL, ensure you login to a PMI profile that either contains the invited email address or an email that matches your company domain (EX: [email protected]).

Returning to the Partner Platform

After you have completed your initial registration, you can return to the Partner Platform through your myPMI dashboard. Locate the Partner Platform access point in the navigation menu and select it to view products available to redeem or purchase.

User tip: Depending on your device or screen size, you may need to scroll within the navigation menu to locate the Partner Platform link.

3. Data Sharing and Privacy

During your first access to the platform, you may be presented with a data-sharing consent screen similar to the example shown below.

To use the PMI Partner Platform, you may be asked to choose whether to share certain data between PMI and your organization.

Shared data helps PMI and your organization manage your learner record, confirm eligibility and, when applicable, track learning progress.

If you choose not to share your data, you will still be able to access products through the PMI Partner Platform. However, some information about your learning activity and redemptions may not be visible to your organization. This may limit your organization's ability to provide assistance or support related to your assigned PMI products.

To change your data sharing preference after redemption, navigate to Settings and update your selection.

4. Redeeming Your Products

After signing in, your dashboard will display the PMI products available to you through your organization. An example is shown below.

When you sign in to the Partner Platform, any products assigned to you appear under Available to Redeem/Purchase. The redemption process varies slightly depending on your organization's set up.

  • Pre-paid Product Redemption: If your organization has already purchased the product for you, redeem it directly at no cost to gain access.

  • Paid Product Redemption: Add the product to your cart and complete checkout to purchase and access the product.

Note: PMI Membership pre-paid redemptions may differ slightly from standard redemptions and may include optional membership renewal selections.

During membership redemption, learners may see:

  • An optional Auto-Renewal selection

  • A credit card entry screen

  • A Redeem Now & Renew Later option

Important:

  • A credit card is not required to activate an organization-sponsored PMI Membership.

  • Auto-renewal is optional.

  • To skip auto-renewal, select Redeem Now & Renew Later.

  • Enabling auto-renewal does not result in an immediate charge. It simply schedules renewal for the next membership term.

After redemption, you can access your products either from the Partner Platform page or through your dashboard on pmi.org

Important: Entering payment information is only required for learners who choose to enroll in future automatic renewal. It is not required to activate a company-sponsored PMI Membership.

5. Support and Troubleshooting

If you experience technical issues or have questions about the redemption process, review any available support resources within the PMI Partner Platform before seeking additional assistance.

Contact your organization's administrator if you:

  • Did not receive an access invitation

  • Cannot access assigned products

  • Experience issues redeeming products

  • Need assistance with account setup or access

Your organization's administrator is the primary point of contact for issues related to access, assignments, and learner support.

6. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What should I do if I did not receive my access email?

If you did not receive an invitation email, check your spam or junk folder. If the email is not found, contact your organization's administrator for assistance.

Who can help me if I am unable to redeem a product?

If you are unable to redeem a product, contact your organization's administrator or review any available support resources within the platform.

Where do I find my assigned/redeemed PMI products?

All PMI products are displayed on your dashboard after you log in. Once redeemed, they are also available through your myPMI profile.

Why is PMI asking for my credit card when my company provided my membership?

Your company-sponsored membership can be activated without enrolling in auto-renewal. If you do not wish to provide payment information for future renewal, select Redeem Now & Renew Later during redemption.

What is the difference between prepaid and paid product redemption?

For prepaid products, the organization has already purchased the product and the learner can redeem it without payment.

For paid products, the learner adds the product to their cart and completes checkout before receiving access.

Why am I seeing the "Add Email" screen?

If you see this screen, it means that none of the email addresses currently associated with your PMI account match either:

  • The email domain configured by your organization, or

  • An email address that has been explicitly invited to access the Partner Platform.

To resolve this, add your work email address to your PMI profile.

Note: Adding your work email does not replace your existing PMI account email address. It simply adds an additional email address to your profile so the platform can recognize your organization's access and grant you the appropriate permissions.

What should I do if the platform says a learner already exists?

Locate the existing learner and resend the invitation rather than creating another record using a different email address.

Creating duplicate learner records may result in fragmented learning history, reporting issues, or product-access problems.

What data does PMI collect and store?

PMI's Privacy Notice defines the personal data collected, processed, and stored by PMI.

How long is Partner Platform data retained?

Purchasing activity is retained for seven years. Inactive-user data is deleted only when a user submits a deletion request.
