Log in to your tutor account on Nimbus.
Navigate to your checklist.
Click on "Set your payment method".
You should be redirected to Stripe’s sign-up page.
Enter your email and click submit.
Make sure to select Individual or Sole proprietor as your business type.
Enter your full name and contact details.
Enter your bank details for payouts.
Verify your banking information.
Click Save & Continue.
Double-check your details.
Click Submit to finalize your setup.
Once setup is complete, you should receive a confirmation email from Stripe.
Please prepared to provide additional documents if needed. In some cases, like the one below, Stripe may require identity or address verification. Check Stripe's Activity tab for any required actions. The requested documents may include:
A government-issued ID (passport, ID card/photo ID, driver’s license, etc.).
A utility bill.
A bank statement.
A rental agreement or mortgage statement.
A tax document (e.g., tax return or government-issued tax bill).
*Additionally, the alert below may appear in the Nimbus app, prompting tutors to submit additional documents if needed. If this happens, click Start Now to be redirected to Stripe and complete the process.
When opening a Stripe Individual Account, you will need the following documents and information:
Full legal name
Date of birth
Home address
Email address
Phone number
You must provide a government-issued photo ID, such as:
Canadian passport
Driver’s license
Provincial or territorial ID card
*Stripe may also require a live photo (selfie) to match the ID for verification.
To receive payouts, you must provide:
Canadian bank account number
Transit number
Institution number
Account must be in your name
In some cases, Stripe may ask for a recent proof of address, such as:
Utility bill (electricity, water, internet, etc.)
Bank statement
Government-issued letter
