Applicable to Individual Travel Plans, your customer can return to their province of residence and then leave for their destination without their insurance contract terminating. During this period:
No insurance coverage is valid and
No premium refund is granted for days spent in the insured’s province or country of residence
Before returning to their travel destination, your customers must still meet insurance eligibility criteria. In addition, when returning to their travel destination, a health condition that is not stable will be considered a pre-existing medical condition and will be excluded for the remainder of the term of the contract, in accordance with the exclusions relating to pre-existing medical conditions of the Emergency Medical Care coverage.
In the absence of medical contraindications, when the Canadian or provincial government recommends that travelers return home while the insured person is already traveling, we may require their return to the province of residence within a time frame that we deem is reasonable.
See Government of Canada Travel Advisories
If the insured person returns earlier from their trip: They can ask for a refund of the unused days, minus a $25 administrative fee.
Upon submission of proof of the return date, unused days are counted from the day after this date.
In the absence of proof of the return date, unused days are counted from the day after the date on which we receive the request.
No refund is granted if they:
Hold an annual contract, or
Have submitted or intent to submit a claim related to the contract, or
Have repatriated at our expense.
The Policyholder can request the cancellation and full refund of their contract either,
Before the effective date of the contract, or
After the effective date of the contract, during the 10 days following the date of purchase, unless
An insured person made or intends to make a claim related to the contract, or
The contract is for a period of 10 days or less, or
The contract was purchased within 11 days before the trip
The contract holder may request to modify their Travel Insurance contract. As a Saskatchewan Blue Cross Partnering advisor, you have the ability to modify a contract prior to the effective date of the contract, directly from your Advisor Travel Portal. As a rule, changes must be made before the departure.
Modifications available:

Fix a mistake in the name of insured person
Change their travel dates
* Some changes cannot be made on the Advisor Travel Portal or, once the Travel Policy becomes effective. (i.e., date of birth) For these situations, please contact the Saskatchewan Blue Cross Member Experience Center.
