    1.8 Add a Customer Type and Run the Report

    Start in the Sample company.
    To complete this exercise, you must be in the Sample company. From your QBOA account, click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then select Sample company.
    Note that you will be logged out of your current account. If you are sure, click "Continue" to confirm.
    Now let's get started with the exercise.
    From the left navigation bar, hover over Sales, then click "Customers".

    Create Customer Type

    First, we need to set up the VIP Customer Type.
    Click "Customer types".
    Click "New customer type".
    Type "VIP", then click "Save".

    Assign Customer Type

    Now let's assign this Customer Type to Amy's Bird Sanctuary.
    Click "Customers".
    Click "Amy's Bird Sanctuary".
    Click "Edit" to open up Amy's record for editing.
    Scroll to the Additional info section, then in the Customer type field, select "VIP".
    Click "Save".

    View Report

    Now let's see what this looks like on a report.
    From the left navigation bar, click "Reports".
