    3.6.2 How to Complete an Experimental Time Request (ETR)

    Click **Experimental Time Request** to begin the request.

    Click **ADD NEW REQUEST**.

    In the **Run Cycle** field, select the cycle name from the drop-down.

    Click **LaserNetUS: Cycle 7**.

    Alert! Complete the ETR for your primary facility first.

    Click in the **1st Choice Resource** field and select your **Primary Facility** from the drop-down.

    Select the Laser System/Configuration you are requesting for in the **1st Choice Instrument field**.

    Some facilities have added additional laser configuration parameters to assist with scheduling. If available– select an option from the drop-down in the **1st Choice Technique** field.

    Note: One day corresponds to one business day or shot day; for example, 5 days equal one work week.

    Click in the **Days Requested This ETR** field and enter the number of days. Be sure to include any setup days if support from the facility is required, regardless of laser needs. Consult with the Facility Point of Contact (POC) to understand the typical award lengths, as these can vary by facility.

    In some cases, LaserNetUS may not be able to award the full number of days requested, and your experiment may be split into a scientific campaign. Please specify the minimum number of days required to be useful in the **Minimum Useful Days This ETR** field.

    Click **SAVE (⌘ + S)**.

    To have your proposal considered at a **Secondary Facility**, as well, click **ADD NEW REQUEST** and provide the same details.

    Note: We will identify the **Primary** and **Secondary Facility** based on the ETR numbers, so please ensure that your Primary Facility has a lower ETR number than your second choice.

    Target support requests for the Michigan Target Research and Fabrication Facility (MiTRF) must also be indicated using the ETR.

    Target support requests for the Michigan Target Research and Fabrication Facility (MiTRF) must also be indicated using the ETR. To request consultation, procurement, fabrication/assembly, or characterization from MiTRF, add a third ETR by clicking "ADD NEW REQUEST."

    Select **Michigan Target Research and Fabrication Facility (MiTRF)** from the **1st Choice Resource** field.

    Select from the drop-down the primary type of support you are requesting from the Michigan Target Research and Fabrication Facility (MiTRF).
