    4.8 Prepare Management Reports

    • 0 step
    Start in the Sample company.
To complete this exercise, you must be in the Sample company. From your QBOA account, click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then select Sample company.
Note that you will be logged out of your current account. If you are sure, click "Continue" to confirm.
Now let's get started with the exercise.
From the left navigation bar, click "Reports".
    Click the "Management reports" tab.
Intuit recommends that you always copy the included Management Report templates and then work from the copy, so that's what we'll do.
Click the "down arrow" in the Action column of the Company Overview report, then select "Duplicate".
Click the "down arrow" in the Action column of the newly created Company Overview-1 report, then select "Edit".
If any pop-ups appear, just click out of them.
In the Template name field, type "Company Overview-Investor".
In the Cover title field, type "Investor Report". *Notice that when you click out of the field, the sample report on the right side will update to reflect this change.*
On the left side, click "Preliminary Pages" to add Craig's cover letter.
If any pop-ups appear, just click out of them.
In the Page title field, type "Introduction".
In the Page content field, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard to add a blank line, then type "Dear Investor,". *In a real life scenario, you would enter the full letter in this area.*
On the left side, click "Reports".
Click the dots (:::) and drag the Balance Sheet to the top of the list so it is listed first, then click the "Profit and Loss" row to open it for editing.
Click the "checkbox" next to Compare previous year, then click the open area in the row to close the editing window.
    Click "Add new report".
