    Start in the Sample company.

    To complete this exercise, you must be in the Sample company. From your QBOA account, click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then select Sample company.

    Now let's get started with the exercise.

    Click the gear icon, then select "Tags".

    If you completed the exercise [2\.9 Using Tags](https://scribehow.com/shared/29_Using_Tags__lkVse71jQAyyBko8ElkWHg) in the same session of the Sample company, you will already have John's tag set up and can skip to Step 6. Otherwise, proceed with the exercise as written.

    Click "New", then select "Tag".

    In the Tag name field, type "John".

    Click "Save".

    Now let's add the tag to Amy's Bird Sanctuary transactions.

    Click "See all untagged transactions".

    Let's find just the transactions for Amy's Bird Sanctuary.

    Click "Filters". Then, in the By Contact field, select "Amy's Bird Sanctuary".

    Click "Apply".

    Click the checkbox at the top of the column to select all the transactions in the list, then click the down arrow next to "Update tags".

    Select "Add tags".

    In the Tags field, click into the box, then select "John" when it appears.
