    To complete this exercise, you must be in the Sample company. From your QBOA account, click on the Gear icon on the top right corner of the screen, then select Sample company.

    Scenario, Part 1

    Craig has worked with Mahoney Mugs on the design and has provided a purchase order for $500. How would you set this up?

    Click the "+New" button.

    Click "Purchase order".

    In the Vendor field, select "Mahoney Mugs".

    Click down arrow to open the "Category details" grid.

    On the first line, in the Category field, select "Advertising".

    In the Description field, type "Custom Mugs".

    In the Amount field, type "500.00".

    Click "Save and close".

    Before going on to the next steps, let's take a minute to review the purchase order.

    From the left navigation bar, hover over Expenses, then select "Vendors".

    Click the dark blue money bar.

    Now let's see the transactions (including the Purchase Order) for Mahoney Mugs.

    Notice there are two new columns: Received and Closed. We'll take a look these more in future steps. You can also create a Bill directly from the Purchase Order. We will not be doing that in this exercise.
