ASCVD Calculator use and documentation

    Open a new Full Note Composer visit note for the patient. Enter current vitals as needed. Note Systolic BP measurement is needed for the ASCVD risk calculations.

    Click "Patient Toolbar" for Patient Results.

    Click "Results by Date" If your system defaults to Result by Date, use the magnifying glass to search for Result by Template option

    Choose the Result by template to view labs by their default lab template.

    Choose the Lipid Panel or Cholesterol template where patient Lipid/Cholesterol results would be recorded.

    If multiple dates or results show up, choose the most recent date for the Cholesterol tests.

    You may choose to write down the results for Cholesterol, LDL and HDL results for the next step or you can also toggle (will be shown in next steps) between the Results window and the Risk Calculator window. Click on the link for the ASCVD Risk Estimator to open the web page.

    The page will open in the web browser outside of the Aprima Program

    Answer the 2 questions presented on the page. Note Answering Yes to either or both of the questions will not result in a score. Choosing NO to both of the questions will result in further questions opening.

    Enter the LDL level from the Results that you previewed prior to opening this web page. If you need you can re-open the Lab results screen using the toolbar at the bottom of the page. See next slide.

    Hover over the CGM icon on the toolbar will show all Aprima windows that are open. Select the Screen that has the Lab Results open for the Lipid Panel or Cholesterol

    It will now come up for your to review again if you did not write the result values down.

    Click back to the Calculator and enter the values for the LDL level

    Enter the Age of the patient. If you do not know, again you can click back to CGM using the toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

    Hover over CGM Icon and open the Patient Demographics window.

    With this open you would be able to see the patient age if needed.

    To close / minimize use the - to minimize the window and return back to the Web page Risk calculator.

    Enter Sex from drop down.
