In this example of an abandon cart workflow, we're going to see whether one, three or five emails performs better in converting people who have abandon their cart on our website.
For the starting criteria, we've created a custom contact property called "Abandon Cart" so are going to use this as the trigger to enroll people into the workflow.
Since we are using a custom contact property, we're going to select "Contact properties".
We're now going to select "Abandon Cart = Yes" as the trigger.
    Click "Apply filter"
    Click "Save"
Underneath the enrollment criteria click the "+" sign to add a workflow action.
Search for split test automation in your workflow actions. In this example, since we are testing three flows, we're going to insert the " Three cohort split test automation" action.
    Click "Save"
Underneath the split test automation action click the "+" sign to add another workflow action.
Select the "Value equals branch" which is where you'll create your cohorts.
    Click "Choose a property".
Click "1. Three cohort split test automation" as the property to branch on.
Check the box next to "cohort".
Click "Create a separate branch for each value in this property" which will then create the three cohorts.
    Click "Next"
    Click "Save"
Underneath each cohort, I'm going to test the different number of emails I'm sending along with the delay step between emails.
This is what the structure of the abandon cart workflow will now look like. If split test automation assigns an individual to the A cohort, they will flow down this branch and get one email, if split test automation assigns an individual to the B cohort, they will flow down this branch and get three emails and so on.
