Add a Member

This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for adding a member to a benefits plan, ensuring that all necessary demographic, benefits, and family information is accurately recorded.

Click **"MEMBERS".** Select **"Add Member".**

1. Details

1. Locate the **Group Policy** number and, if applicable, the **Division** number associated with the member’s enrollment. 2. Enter the member's demographic details, the application date (the date the benefits application was signed), and, if applicable, their employee ID number. 3. Select the option to waive the waiting period for the plan member. This ensures coverage begins on the date of hire without a waiting period, ***intended for key employees.***

1. Enter the member’s contact information. 2. Provide the member’s direct deposit details. If direct deposit information is not added, claim reimbursements will be issued via cheque instead of being deposited directly into their bank account, which may cause delays. Members can update their banking information and access additional features by registering for the **Saskatchewan Blue Cross Portal and App**.

2. Benefits

1. **Enter the Benefits Effective Date.** 2. **Review each benefits section** and select the applicable **Benefit Class** for the employee. - If benefits need to be **waived due to spousal coverage**, select the appropriate option from the **drop-down menu**.

3. Family Member

1. **Enter the family member’s demographic information.** 2. **Indicate the relationship** to the member. - If **married or common-law**, provide the **marriage date** or **date of cohabitation** (must be at least **12 months** and publicly represented as such to be eligible).

**Review** the added family member’s details for accuracy. If corrections are needed, click the **blue pencil icon** to edit. 1. To add another family member (**dependent(s)**), select **"ADD ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER."** 2. When all family members have been added, Click **"SAVE & EXIT"** to save your work and return later. - To continue with the enrollment, click **"SAVE & CONTINUE."**

4. Beneficaries

1. **Enter the beneficiary’s name, relationship to the member, and percentage allocation.** - *If only one beneficiary is named, the percentage must be **100%**. If multiple beneficiaries are named, the total must equal **100%**.* 2. Click **"ADD BENEFICIARY"** to add another beneficiary.

If an **Irrevocable Beneficiary** is selected, a **warning notice** will appear. Changes to the beneficiary on the policy will require **written consent** from the Irrevocable Beneficiary.

If a **beneficiary is under the age of 18**, a **trustee must be named**. 1. **Enter the trustee’s name, relationship to the beneficiary, and phone number.** 2. Click **"SAVE & EXIT"** to save your work and return later. - To continue with the enrollment, click **"SAVE & CONTINUE."**

5. Salary & Occupation (If Applicable)

*If applicable*, a **“Salary and Occupation”** step will appear. Complete all required fields before proceeding: 1. **Enter the member’s Occupation and Job Title.** 2. **Input the member’s earnings** and select the **payment frequency** (**Yearly, Monthly, Weekly, or Hourly**). 3. Click **"SAVE & EXIT"** to save your work and return later. - To continue with the enrollment, click **"SAVE & CONTINUE."**

6. HSA

1. If a **Health Spending Account (HSA)** or **Personal Wellness Account (PWA)** is an **eligible benefit** for the member, select the **Class**, enter the **account credit amount**, and provide the **effective date** of the account. 2. Click **"SAVE & EXIT"** to save your work and return later. - To continue with the enrollment, click **"SAVE & CONTINUE."**

7. Preview

**Thoroughly review** all entered information for accuracy. If corrections are needed, click the **highlighted section text at the top of the preview** to navigate back and make edits. - *For example, if the employee was assigned to the wrong benefit class, click **"2. BENEFITS"** to jump to that section and revise.* Once all information is confirmed to be accurate, click **"SUBMIT."** Step
