**Alert!** Direct Mail Cadence orders trump regular Direct Mail orders.\ When adding a lead to a direct mail cadence, logic does not respect the 30-day rule of restricting the first "now" mail piece order when there was a regular direct mail order created in the last 30 days. \ When creating a regular direct mail order, logic does respect a cadence order having been placed in the last 30 days and stops the new regular order. This functionality allows for users to create direct mail sequences that mail out more frequently then every 30 days if they choose.

Add a Test Lead with Valid Address

Tip! USPS requires valid addresses in proper format. To validate an address, we recommend checking out this resource at [https://firstlogic.com/tools/verify-address](https://firstlogic.com/tools/verify-address).
    Type and select "Direct Mail"
    Click "New Lead"
Note and fill in the required address fields. The "Customer" address fields are only required if the customer's mailing address differs from the investment property address OR if you plan to use a mail piece that references the "Property" and "Customer" addresses. For example, Letters 8 and 8A reference an investment property in the body of the letter and are sent to a separate customer address.
Error message, "Cadence couldn't be created" will be displayed if the property street and address info is missing.
    Click "Save"
Alert! It is critical to ensure all fields that could be used as a merge field on mail pieces are filled in correctly. Otherwise, those areas on the mail piece will be blank.
    Click "Create Direct Mail Cadences"
Fill in the "Name of Cadence" field and choose a folder template.
Note the "Credit Available," "Cost Orders" and "Credits Remaining." By default, Left Main REI included mail pieces in the **Lead Letter Sequence** and **Lead Post Card Sequence**. All other **Direct Mail Templates** will indicate a cost of $0 until mail pieces have been added.
Alert! Saving the cadence will be disabled if there are not enough credits remaining. Return to the "Company Setup" page to purchase more credits.
    Click "Save"

    Cancelling a Direct Mail Cadence

Tip! **The Refunded Checkbox and Order Reject Reason are Automatically Updated in These Scenarios:** - Stop cadence - single mail piece - Stop cadence - entire batch - Stop cadence by marking do not mail - Stop regular orders and scheduled orders when the lead or opportunity record is deleted The ability to stop direct mail cadences based on stage and other criteria will be available soon. Details to come! Note that regular direct mail processing windows and cutoffs still apply.
From the "Direct Mail Orders" list view, check the box next to orders you want to cancel. Note that the **cancel process only applies** to orders that have a **preview or submitted** status.**
