At sites where the Helpdesk handles requests for various services, job categories are used to specify the service needed. For example, if you are requesting a patient move, you would select the "Porters" job category.
Your site may only use the system for one service (e.g.: portering). If this is the case, you will not use the Job Category drop-down when selecting a task and you will not need to manage the job categories
      Navigate to Synbiotix
Enter your username and password and click "Login"
      Select Helpdesk
      Click "Administration"
      Click "Job Categories"
Select the required hospital from the drop-down box

      Add a Job Category

      Click "Add New"
      Enter the job category description
Use the toggle to set whether you want to manually assign jobs in this category to resources. - If set to "YES", all tasks in this category will need to be manually assigned to resources, even if the site is set up to use auto-allocation. - If set to "NO", all tasks will be assigned to resources via auto-allocation (although this can be overwritten when adding a job)
If you choose to use manual assignment, use the toggle to determine if an operator can bypass additional allocation rules in the system. - If set to "YES" the system will ignore rules regarding resource allocation (e.g., zoning and time off task), allowing the operator to choose the most suitable resource - If set to "NO" the system will adhere to rules for resource allocation to display and prioritise available resources
      Click "Save"

      Edit a Job Category

Click "edit" to amend a job category
Make any changes as required and click "Save"

      Job Types

If you have added a new job category, you will need to create job types for it.
Click "Job Types" to view all jobs within the selected category
