Dates for Application: \-February 2 - Challenge registration opens (4 pm) *Before and After Care registration will also open at this time.* \-February 16 - Stretch registration opens (4 pm)
Select which child you are submitting an application for. If you are submitting an application for a new student, you can also access that option via "Create a New Student."
If your student has previously been enrolled with the Robinson Center before, please be sure to review their grade level to ensure that it corresponds with the current academic year.
Also, be sure to review the primary Legal Guardian contact information. This email will be our first point of contact for *all* program information.
Click "Update Student" to move forward with the application.
You will be prompted to confirm your child's grade level. If you need to correct the grade option, select "change current grade." If you are ready to move forward, select "current grade is correct." Regardless of academic level, students will be enrolled based on their grade.
Once at the "Select Course or Courses" page, review the requirements section and identify relevant qualifiers and instructions. **Summer Challenge and Summer Stretch programs are opportunities to take *one subject* in depth over the course of the program.** The text is here for your convenience: **[[REQUIREMENTS:]]** - Summer Challenge grade eligibility is determined by the ***[[CURRENT]]*** grade level of the student. A current 5th grade student during the 2024-2025 academic year, will be considered a 5th grade student for the program. - Qualification criteria will be listed in the next step. Be prepared to upload any necessary documentation. **[[SELECTING CLASSES:]]** - You may list up to three class choices in order of preference. Mark your first choice with a "1", your second choice with a "2", and your third choice with a "3". **[[IMPORTANT NOTES:]]** - You will only be assigned to one class. - If your first choice class is full, you will be placed in your second choice. - If your first and second choice classes are full, you will be placed in your third choice class. - If all class choices are full, you will be put on the waiting lists for the classes and we will notify you if space opens up in any of your choices. - Class size is limited; *[[applications are accepted on a rolling, first-come first-served basis for your first choice]]*; waiting lists will be established if necessary. We reserve the right to balance our classes according to gender. - Due to the high demand and the nature of our online registration system, we are unable to process requests for specific companions or partners. For questions about the application process and registration, please contact the Robinson Center at [rcsummer@uw.edu](mailto:rcsummer@uw.edu).
Once ready to make your selection, feel free to use the "filter list" option to peruse courses by focus or title. Dates and Times for classes are consistent throughout the program: \-Summer Challenge (5th & 6th): July 7-25, Monday - Friday \-Summer Stretch (7th-10th): July 1-24, Monday - Thursday (first class starts on a Tuesday) ***-All classes*** are from 9am to 2:20pm each day.
Select your courses. Rank them from 1 (for most preferred) to 3 (least preferred). **Only one ranking is required, but we recommend including a 2nd and 3rd choice in case your preferred class fills up!** Click "continue" when you are ready to move on.
Review the requirements for your selected program. The specific requirements for your student's grade level/ program will be displayed. [See here for Requirements for Summer Challenge](https://robinsoncenter.uw.edu/programs/summer-programs/summer-challenge/apply/) [See here for Requirements for Summer Stretch](https://robinsoncenter.uw.edu/programs/summer-programs/summer-stretch/apply/)
Select which qualification you wish to submit for consideration.
Click "choose file" to upload your qualification document. **If your student has previously participated in either Saturday Enrichment or the Summer programs, they automatically qualify and no further documentation is required** (*except* for most Summer Stretch Math Classes). Be sure to then click "upload." **Be aware that file size must be under 2 MB or it will not upload.** It is not required that you submit the documents at this stage if you do not have them yet. ***See next step for details.*** If you are applying with a teacher recommendation, you will be prompted to enter their information on the next page. **Please be sure to confirm with your chosen teacher-evaluator *before* submitting your application.** Click "continue" when you are ready to move on.
If you do not upload your documentation at this step, you will see this pop-up. You can submit the application, but will have **three business days** to submit the appropriate documentation. **If you do not submit your documents by the end of three days, you will lose your space in line and may not move forward in the review process.**
If a teacher evaluation is chosen, you will be shown the following page. Once we receive the email of your chosen reference, our system will send an automated message to them.
Please provide a reference from a teacher who can represent the appropriate academic subject area that you are applying for. References must be completed within 5 days of the submission of your application, or you may lose your place. **Please provide an institutional email** (eg: a teacher's email that is associated with their school or institution.)
This portion is to ensure that any evaluation is unbiased and truthful. It is considered conventional to waive these rights, but you have the option not to.
Once you proceed, you will see a summary of your application. Review your information for accuracy.
