    What is it?

Bulk Changes Scripts allow admins to make mass changes throughout their account. By selecting and filtering for a certain set of criteria, admins have the ability to add calculated series to 40 different measures, edit every single objective to have a new owner, or add a status to every initiative with a completed date before today – just to name a few examples. Similar to Custom Scripting within ClearPoint, the Bulk Changes Script has a user-friendly interface to make it easy for users to set their filters and specify the changes they’d like to see.

    Why does it matter?

Annual rollovers and slight changes to strategic plans should not be processes that come with cumbersome tasks by the team trying to make changes to their ClearPoint account. With Bulk Changes Scripts, all users (regardless of experience level with scripts or code!) can make repeatable changes across the account easily and quickly. Rollovers and strategic plan changes can focus, once again, on being an exciting and hopeful time as teams dream of all the strategic success they’ll achieve.

    How does it work?

Important: Since Bulk Changes can change many things in your account very quickly, and may be difficult to undo, we strongly recommend reaching out to your account manager before running any scripts.
These steps will help you create a Bulk Changes Script
    - From the Control Panel click on **Automation** - Select **Bulk Changes** - Click on the **Plus icon**
    - Under **Name**, enter the name of the Script, in this example, ‘Change Measure Status’. - Be as descriptive as possible in the Description field
    - Under **Element**, select the element to change with the script - Use the **dropdown menu** to select the type of action you want to perform, in this example, ‘Update’. - Select the appropriate **Period**
    - Navigate to the **Filter tab** - Click on the **Add Filter** button
    - Select an **Element** from the dropdown menu, in this example, ‘Measure’. - Use the dropdown menu to select a **Field**, in this example, we are going to select ‘Status’. - Under C**omparison** select **Equals** - Select **No Information** as the **Value** - Click **Save**
    - Click **Preview Filter** so you know exactly which elements you will be changing. If the result is not what you’re looking for, consider refining your filter or adding additional filters. - Navigate to the **Changes tab** - Use the dropdown menu under **Select Fields** to select the field you want to update, in this example, **Status** - We are going to choose **Caution** as the **Status**
    - Navigate to the **Preview tab** - You will be prompted to **Save** - Use the **dropdown arrow** to expand the view - It’s important to review the changes carefully before continuing - Once you have made sure these are the changes you want to perform, click **Save**
The following steps will help you run a Bulk Changes Script
    - From the Control Panel click on **Automation** - Select **Bulk Changes** - Click on **Run Script**
    - You will be prompted to preview the changes you are about to perform for a last review, due to the amount of changes and because they are going to take effect in your whole account, we strongly suggest you review them carefully before proceeding. - Only click **Run** when you are confident the changes are what you are looking forward to. - You will be prompted to confirm you want to **Run** the script
