Navigate to your Canvas course.

Click "Manage Subject"

Scroll down to the bottom and click 'more options'.

Uncheck the "Let students edit or delete their own discussion replies" field.

Uncheck the "Let students organize their own groups" field.

Click "Update Course Details"
