Chat can use several different formats when responding to queries. This tutorial shows you a few options.

Before starting this tutorial, open a chat with at least one document added to it. Other tutorials in this series can show you how to set that up.

In this example, we're starting in the **Aircraft specs** chat created during an earlier tutorial in this series.

Unless you specify otherwise, most responses will be a sentence or two

You can specify that the reply should be in the form of a list

Request a bullet list instead of a numbered list if the order doesn't matter

Chat returns a table if you explicitly request one

It can also return different of types of charts; just tell it exactly what you want

If you'd like a format that isn't described here (CSV, JSON, pie chart, etc.), ask chat to use that format and see what happens. You might be surprised by what it can do.
