    Navigate to [https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/home?region=us-east-1#Instances:](https://us-east-1.console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/home?region=us-east-1#Instances:)

    Type "RDS"

    Click "RDS"

    Click "Create database"

    Click the "Amazon Aurora" field.

    Choose "Aurora (MySQL 5.7) 2.10.2"

    Change template to "Dev/TestThis instance is intended for development use outside of a production environment."

    Click the "Auto generate a passwordAmazon RDS can generate a password for you, or you can specify your own password." field.

    Click the "Burstable classes (includes t classes)" field for cost savings for this exercise.

    Click the "Don't create an Aurora Replica" field. It will be created in a follow-up tutorial.

    Scroll Down to "Availability Zone" setting.

    Change to your preferred AZ. This tutorial will use "us-east-1a"

    Review all parameters and then click "Create database"
