Creating Tasks

This guide provides essential steps for creating and managing EpiTrax Tasks, which serve as vital reminders for follow-up actions like patient check-ins or pending results. By utilizing this guide, users can streamline their workflow, ensuring important tasks are assigned and completed on time while minimizing data entry errors. Additionally, it offers insights into viewing tasks on a calendar, promoting better organization and team collaboration, especially when managing multiple investigators.

EpiTrax Tasks are useful system reminders that can help ensure any follow-up actions are completed. For example, you can setup a task to call back a patient in five days to check on their recovery status or a task to remember to check for pending laboratory results. The following steps outlines how to create a task including how to view on the EpiTrax calendar.

The first step is to click the [[Tasks ]]tab

Next, you will click [[+ Add Task]]

From the *Add Task* dialog box complete all the information and selections. Be sure to add in due dates, category, and description of the task. You can also select yourself as the person to assign the task to or another investigator at your LHD.

As a helpful reminder, always use the calendar icon to complete the due date.

After you have entered all the details, select [[save]]

After saving, the task will now display on the tasks menu. Once the task is complete you can use the status drop down to select completed to close out the task.

The next steps outline how to view tasks on the My Task Schedule calendar.

Click "My Task Schedule" from the main page to view the task calendar view.

The default view on the calendar for any tasks with pending status for you. Adjust any of the parameters listed such as disease condition or high priority tasks.

Click the task to view the details for that specific item.

Click on the record number to open the associated event in a new window.

Once you are done, you can also reassign this to another investigator or click on the [[X]] to close the window.

The default calendar view will only show tasks assigned to yourself. Use the drop down menu from the *Assigned To* field to specify other investigators. This is helpful for when an investigator is out to see if they have any tasks due today.
