Note: Wording and options may change from time to time as adjustments are made to improve or clarify, but the general layout and functionality will follow what is in this article.

Step 1: Launch The Formula Creation Tool

    1
Start by bringing up a Soil Sample Results Layer in Field Analyzer in the Operations Center.

Tip! If you don't have any Soil Results yet, but want to run your own prescriptions based on yield only, reach out to the VRAFY Team and ask them to send a special Yield Layer to your Operations Center with the Create Prescription link in it.

For our example, we will load/view a "Soil K" layer.
For our example, we will load/view a "Soil K" layer.
    3
Click on "Create Formula Rx" below the map area to launch the VRAFY Prescription Creation Tool

    Step 2: Select Your Formula

    4
Select the Formula Group containing the Formula you want to run.
    5
For our example, we will utilize the 04 Soils Only - P&K Build group as we won't be utilizing a yield map.
    6
In the list, we will look for the formula titled: Target PPM K Build - Potash

Step 2A: Adjust The Target PPM For The Formula

    7
Many of our formulas include user-adjustable variables. These variables will be found under the green "Vars" button. These will allow you to adjust things like the target PPM, increase or decrease the yield factor, or tell the formula if you harvested grain only or also harvested the straw. The
    8
The default value in this formula is 150 ppm. When a default value is present, the target value is greyed out. We need to tell the formula to use a custom flat rate by clicking on the "Flat" box.
    9
Then click in the "Value/Seasons" entry field and now we can adjust our target. For our example, we will adjust the target from 150 to 200.

Tip! Some layers, such as the Soil Sample and Yield layers, have a season listed. When these are shown, you can select which crop seasons you want to run the formula against. If you select more than one crop season of the same crop, the formula will use an average of those years when calculating crop removal. For example, if you select 2024 and 2022 Corn Harvest, the formula will use an average of the two when calculating crop removal. If you want to create a prescription to replace the nutrients from both seasons combined, select both seasons and set the Yield Adjustment % to 200.
    10
Once your variables are set on the Vars screen, click on the green "Done" button.

Step 2B (Optional): Adjust Prescription Preferences, Such As Minimum and Average Rates
