      Navigate to [https://abrs.gov.au/persons/ui/secure/start/applyForDirectorID?action=applyfordirectorid](https://abrs.gov.au/persons/ui/secure/start/applyForDirectorID?action=applyfordirectorid)
Click the "myGovID email" field and enter your associated myGov ID email then click login. Once you have logged in, you will see four numbers on the screen and will need to enter these in to the myGov ID app on your mobile device to continue.
Click "I agree to the terms and conditions of use" and then click next
If your myGov ID security level is "Strong" then enter your address and tax file number here and then proceed to Step 8. If your myGov ID security level is "Standard" then move to Step 5 as you will need to provide further information.
      Click "Next"
Select two questions to answer which will connect your MyGovID to your Director ID. In this instance, bank account details and notice of assessment have been used.
Enter bank details (if that was your chosen field). These are the bank details that would have been included with your last tax return.
If using notice of assessment, check the box and enter the required information. The date and reference number can be found on your notice of assessment in your MyGov inbox or provided by your accountant. Click "I agree to verifying and linking my record." and submit.
      Click "Continue"
Read the application requirements and should you be eligible, click the "I am an eligible officer or intend to become an eligible officer within 12 months of my application" field.
Click the "I acknowledge that to be a director of a company I must meet the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001" field and click "Next"
Fill in your personal details and click "Next"
Confirm the declaration and click "Submit"
The process is now complete! You will need to save a copy of your director ID for future use. No further action is required for existing associated companies, this will be handled by ASIC automatically.
