    Creating a New Asset in Geoforce Track & Trace

      Alert! For NEW shipments of Devices, these devices will be added to your account and automatically paired to an Asset with the Asset Name & ID listed as the ESN of the Tag for you through a process we call "Autobirth" so all you should have to do is rename the assets from your List or Map view (See "How to Edit Assets" article). But sometimes you may need to create a new asset, this article will walk you through that asset.

      Click "Setup"

      Click "Assets"

      Click "NEW ASSET"

      Enter The Asset Name

      Tip! We Recommend the Asset Name be something that is easy for everyone to understand. Example: if a truck says 104 on the side, we recommend making the name something like "Truck 104"

      Enter your Asset ID

      Tip! Asset ID can be a more complex or a number that is not as easily identifiable. Something like an Internal ID, VIN, Coded ID, etc. We do see some people choose to use the ESN as the Asset ID which you can also do.

      Asset Description can be used for what you want it to be. We see people track small notes or perhaps an install date here.

      If you want you can add the Fuel Type, otherwise leave this untouched.\ Asset Owner should also be your company's name.

      Use the GPS Tag drop down to select the ESN of the Tag you will be paring up to the asset.

      Use the list to the right to select the asset type. Select the closest type to what you are attaching your Tag to.

      Tip! If you dont see any type that really matches what you need, you can reach out to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) to have them add the type needed.

      Click "Save Changes" to add your asset.
