Open the Fieldbook app on your mobile device or tablet.

Tap the "Fields" icon.

Tap the "Create New Field" icon as shown below.

A window will pop up where you will fill in the details about your field, including what you want to call your field, how many rows (usually the y-coordinate of a grid system) and how many columns (the x-coordinate).

Once you have added the appropriate information, tap "OK."

Next, you will choose where the starting point is in your field. This will be the where the first plot is in your field, usually where you would start when phenotyping. Here we chose "Top Left."

Once you pick the starting point, it will automatically navigate to the next window where you will choose how you want your plots numbered. This is typically how you navigate the field when phenotyping.

The next window allows you to review your selections. To confirm, tap "OK."

You should now see the field you created in the "Fields" window. To use this field for phenotyping, tap the toggle next to it.

Your field has been created and selected for use in phenotyping.
