Creating a Project Proposal

Click "[Your Ohio account SSO to login](mailto:susan.robb@ohio.edu)

Click on "Products".

Select "Sponsored Projects"

Click "Start New Proposal"

If this is a new proposal, select "This proposal is not related to any existing proposals or awards (Create New Project)"

Enter the title for your project and click "Create New Project"

If this proposal is related to an existing proposal, select "This proposal is related to existing proposals (Add Proposal to Project)", enter the project number or title and click "Add New Proposal to Project".

Click General Information to complete this section. This section of the Proposal Record contains fields related to broad areas of the proposal including the project start and end dates and the type of award mechanism, proposal type, and activity type.

Begin typing the Sponsor information in the field and choose the sponsor from the dropdown menu. **Note - Before requesting to add a sponsor or an external organization via the request form, ensure that you have spelled out the entire name of the Sponsor and/or specifically searched for some of the major words within the Sponsor name.**

Prime Sponsor - If we are serving as a pass-through entity, list the sponsor providing the original funding.

Enter the Funding Opportunity/Sponsor Application No. Example - "NSF22503 - This is a transfer from another institution. The FOA is from 2021 and is no longer active."

Enter the Sponsor Program name.

Select "URL" or "Attachment" for the proposal guidelines. If "URL" is selected, please provide the URL for the Sponsor's proposal guidelines. If "Attachment" is selected, please upload a copy of the guidelines.

Enter the Sponsor contact information if available.

Enter the title of the project as reflected on the proposal being submitted to the Sponsor. Example - "LEAPS-MPS: Taming the Radicals-Manipulating Lattice-Confined Metalloradicals for C-H Activation."

Select from the menu the unit administering the project. See example on the next slide.
