    Search for **AWS Management Console** in any browser Click on the first link with the domain address - [aws.amazon.com/console](//aws.amazon.com/console)

    On the landing page click on the **Create a Free Account** button

    AWS Sign in page will open, click on the **Create a new AWS account** button

    **Sign up for AWS** page will open, enter your **root user email address** and your **AWS account name** in the text input field then click on the **Verify email address** button

    Check the email for the **Verification code** from the **AWS**

    Type that verification code in the **Verification code** input text field and click on the **Verify** button

    **Create your password** page will open, enter a strong password for your AWS root account and again confirm the password then click on the **Continue** button

    **Contact Information** page will open, select the option **Personal** if you want to use AWS for your own projects or select the option **Business** for your work, school or organization

    Scroll the page and enter your contact information

    Then tick the checkbox for **AWS Customer Agreement** and click on the **Continue** button

    **Billing Information** page will open, enter your Credit or Debit card information

    **Why does AWS need your Billing Information during sign-up?** AWS requests billing information for several purposes. Firstly, it serves as a means of verifying the identity of the user creating the account. Secondly, it allows for the setup of a payment method since AWS services are typically billed based on usage. Additionally, billing information helps in validating eligibility for the free tier offering, preventing misuse. Moreover, it enables AWS to track and manage service usage efficiently, providing detailed billing reports to users.

    Scroll to the **Billing address** section, select the option **Use my contact address** or you can add a new address and select the option Yes or No for **Do you have a PAN** then click on the **Verify and continue** button

    Enter the **OTP (One Time Password)** sent to you via SMS or email to complete the transaction **Note:** When signing up, AWS charges users 2 INR for those in India and 1 USD for users in other countries.

    AWS charges users based on their respective regions and currencies. For users in India, AWS typically bills in Indian Rupees (INR), whereas for users in other countries, billing is typically in United States Dollars (USD).

    **Confirm your Identity** page will open, select your **Name**, **Primary purpose of account registration**, **Ownership type** and **India document type information**

    Scroll the page and enter your **DOB (Date of Birth)** and your respective ID detail based on the option you have selected for the **India document type** After entering all the required information click on the **Continue** button

    **AWS** will verify your details, which may take some time. Once verified, you'll receive a confirmation email from AWS for your account activation. Afterwards, you can log in to the **AWS Management Console** using the root **ID** and **Password** you provided during the signup process. Congratulations on completing this lab successfully!
