Navigate to [https://app.datatoolspro.com](https://app.datatoolspro.com)

Click in the Metrics input text to enter a metric name you track.

We entered "Marketing Qualified Leads". Press ENTER or click "Create Metric".

Tip! We designed the metric entry to not require clicking on any buttons. You can type the metric, click enter and immediately start typing the next metric.

Press the Gear icon to add Line of Business and Topics.

We have a spreadsheet interface to add and manage your lines of Business. Simply type the line of business values you want to assign to metrics.

Type "Sales [[enter]] Marketing [[enter]] Operations"

Click this dropdown and update to Topics.

Click on the first cell and type:  "Conversion [[enter]] Sales [[enter]] Profitability"

You can add as many topics as you like to properly categorize your topics with business categories that make sense.

Click "×"or click outside of the of the categories management screen.

Now we are going to add a metric alias. Click on the "+" icon.

A metric alias is an alternative name or acronym that your business may use to describe a metric. When clicking on the "+" button it simply toggled the Alias edit option.

Click "Add".\

Now you have an alias and at any point can change the Alias to be the primary name.

Click on the edit icon to add a definition.
