Duplicating Theme Layouts

This guide provides a step-by-step process for duplicating theme layouts using Layout Management, essential for building multiple sites on a single platform. It emphasizes the importance of starting with the Under 10k site to ensure consistency and functionality across new sites.

Layout Management code elements are the framework that allows the client to have multiple sites, while still leveraging the fundamental functionality of the platform. Every site is built upon this Layout Management code.\ **Theme\ Page\ Section\ Module**

The New Site will require the Layout Management components \ ***before*** the initial site build.

Layout Management Theme

Start with the **Under 10k Template**. *This is where we will copy the Theme from.*

*[[Under 10k Template]]*\ Navigate to <https://under10k-on-basegst.runmytests.com/>\ In the Admin Helper - select: **Themes and Pages for this site**

*[[Under 10k Template]]*\ Expand "Layout Management"\ Click "**Themes**"

*[[Under 10k Template]]*\ Click "**10k_v1 - Primary Theme**"

*[[Under 10k Template]]*\ In the Template Code </> window, copy the **10k_v1 - Primary Theme** code.\ **Select All\ Copy**

New Site Content

Switch to the **New Site** that is being built.

*[[New Site]]*\ In the Career Site Admin\ Expand "Layout Management"\ Click "**Themes**"\ Click "**Add Layout**"

*[[New Site]]*\ Click "**GST**"

*[[New Site]]*\ In the Template Code </> window \ Paste the 10k_v1 - Primary Theme code. Replace what is currently there.\ **Select All\ Paste**

Naming Convention:\ Use the **Under 10K - v1_0 - Layout Management - Theme** (green) as a template\ to build out the **New Site - Layout Management - Theme** (blue) *Note: When copying the file name, just remove "10k\_" for the New Site naming*

*[[New Site]]*\ Click the "Name" field.\ Enter: "**v1 - Primary Theme**"

*[[New Site]]*\ Click "**Publish Preview**"

*[[New Site]]*\ Now publish the **v1 - Primary Theme**\ Click "**Publish Live**"\ *This step is required for proper CMS functionality*

*[[New Site]]*\ When you load the Preview page for the first time, you need to enter: - **Start Date** and **End Date** - Username: **radancy** - Password: **radancy123** - Select the **Preview Domain Selection** for the New Site in the dropdown. Click "**Select All**"\ Click "**Preview**" to push the updated content.

*[[New Site]]*\ Select all files for preview.\ Click "**Preview**"

*[[New Site]]*\ Click on the "**RunMyTests URL**" to view and verify that the **New Site** is running on the Preview Server.

Layout Management Theme "**v1 - Primary Theme"** is now available.
