Click on the 'Browse Channels' link on the top of the channel list. It will then open a menu of tall the channels available to you in the whole server. 

Make sure the 'Follow Category' box (on the right) is unchecked and then select the corresponding boxes to the channels you want to follow. Uncheck the boxes that you do not want to follow. 

Check to follow the entire category of channels. Uncheck to unfollow the entire category. 

Check the 'Follow Category' to follow all channels. 

When you are done, click on any channel in the left-hand menu to exit this section.
