Navigate to [https://signon.stjohns.edu](https://stjohns.instructure.com/?login_success=1) and access Canvas LMS

Select "Discussions/Announcements Redesign (Feature Preview)"

Click the red "X" next to "Discussions/Announcements Redesign (Feature Preview)" and in the drop-down menu that appears, select "Enabled." This will change the icon from a red "X" to a green checkmark.

Your Discussions are now updated! Continue on if you want to see a preview of these new features.

Click "Sort" to sort the Discussion responses by newest/oldest.

Click "View Split Screen" to see Discussion responses next to the original post.

Conversely, click "View Inline" to put Discussion responses back into its traditional view, responses appearing below the original post.

Click "Expand Threads" to expand ***all*** discussion responses so that you can see the full text without clicking the "More" option on each response.

Conversely, click "Collapse Threads" to collapse ***all*** discussion responses for a more condensed view. If you want to read a student's extended response to a discussion, you will have to click "More" on that individual's response.
