Create a Subaccount
There is already a Maintenance and Repair account, but you want to specifically track vehicle repair costs. You'll need to create a new account and make it a subaccount of the Maintenance and Repair account.
Click "New"
In the Account name field, type "Vehicle Repair"
In the Account type field, select "Expenses"
In the Detail type field, select "Repair & Maintenance"
Click the "checkbox" next to Make this a subaccount
In the Parent account field, select "Maintenance and Repair"
Here you can see a sample of where this new account will fall in a report.
Click "Save"
Now you can scroll to see the new account you created in the Chart of Accounts, under the Maintenance and Repair account.
