Populating Your GoGuardian Dashboard at the Beginning of the Year

If your classes are rostered in PowerSchool, begin with Step 1. If not, begin with Step 5. #EdTech #GCSStaff

At the beginning of the school year, you'll find that your dashboard is empty. Here's how to find or create your classes.

If Your Classes Are Rostered in PowerSchool

Log into GoGuardian via Clever (preferred) or at <https://teacher.goguardian.com>.

If you have classes that are rostered in PowerSchool, you'll notice a red number to the left of your screen next to "Pending." Click "Pending."

All of your PowerSchool classes will show here. Not sure which to choose? Click "View Details" on a tile to see a list of the students in the class.

Click "Accept" on the classes you want in your dashboard. They will move from "Pending" to "Active." Click "Decline" on the classes you don't want in your dashboard. They will move from "Pending" to "Archived." (You can always activate them later if you need to.)

When your roster changes in PowerSchool, it will also change in GoGuardian. Please allow 72 hours from the time the PowerSchool update is entered.

If Your Classes Are NOT Rostered in PowerSchool

Log into GoGuardian via Clever (if you have access) or at <https://teacher.goguardian.com>.

You'll create your classes manually since they're not rostered in PowerSchool. Click the green "Add Classroom" button on the right of your screen.

Enter a name for your classroom. Complete the remaining fields as desired. (You can edit these fields at any time.) Click "Add Classroom."

You have three options to create your class.

Option 1: Click "Use code."

Your students will go to <https://enroll.goguardian.com> and enter the "Enroll Code." (They will only need to do this once.)

After the students have input the code, click "Enroll All."

Option 2: Click "Add emails."

IMPORTANT! You must use the students' @mygcsnc.com account rather than their @stu.gcsnc.com. Here is the format:

Enter the each student's @mygcsnc.com email address and click "Add Students."

Option 3: Click "Upload CSV."

IMPORTANT! You must use the students' @mygcsnc.com account rather than their @stu.gcsnc.com. Here is the format:

Upload a CSV of your students' email addresses formatted into one column without any headings.

Click on "Classrooms" to see the class in your dashboard.

You will manually update your class if your roster changes.
