Granular Copying Items in Blackboard Ultra

In this tutorial, we'll copy individual items or multiple items from one course into a another, also known as a "granular copy." Begin in the course that you want to **copy content into**.

To copy into an existing learning module, click the module to expand it.

Mouse over the small grey plus in the space where you want your copied items to appear. It will change to a purple plus icon with a line where the copied items will appear. Click the purple plus icon.

Choose "Copy Content" from the dropdown menu.

Click in the search field and type in the name of the course that you'd like to copy content from.

Click the arrow to the right of the title of the course. This will take you down into the course content of the previous course.

Find the type of content that you'd like to copy on the content list, and click on the arrow to the right of the content container. For this tutorial, we'll be copying main course content. NOTE: you can also copy other items like discussions, announcements, question banks, etc.

Continue clicking arrows until you've found the items that you want to copy.

Select the item or items that you want to copy by clicking the check box to the left of the item on the list.

When you've selected the items that you want to copy, click "Start Copy" on the bottom right of the page.

When the copy process is complete, the module or content area that you copied into will close. Click the module again to reopen it.

Your copied items will appear in the area where you began the copy process from in step three.

NOTE: you can copy an entire module, folder, or content type by selecting the check box to the left of the item name and clicking "Start Copy." This will copy **all of the content in that container** into the area that you started the copy from when you clicked on the purple plus icon in step three.
