Editing Seating Charts in Synergy

Navigate to one of your sections in Synergy that doesn't have all students showing up in the seating chart/Home page of Synergy.

If not all of your students are showing up on the Home page, you will see a tag next to the Edit button that says, "There are some students who need to be seated in the chart". Click on "Edit" to fix this issue.

Once in Edit, scroll down until you find the Seating Chart Dimensions editor. Add enough rows and columns to accommodate all of the students in that section, and then click on "Fill Alpha" if you want the students without seats to be added alphabetically to the bottom of the Home page/seating chart.

Most staff choose "Fill Alpha", as it's the most common method for learning student names early in the year. However, there are other ways to sort unassigned students, if you aren't interested in an alphabetical layout. You can choose to "Fill Random" instead, which will randomly sort the students into available seats, or you could "Sort" and specifically move students to the seats you want them in, etc.

Once you've sorted all of your students in the section to the seating chart, be sure to click "Save".
