    Navigate to [https://hub.practiceindex.co.uk](https://hub.practiceindex.co.uk)
    Click "HR".
    Click "Holiday Manager"
    Click "Staff"
Click "add" next to the name of the member of staff you would like to add.
Add the units for calculating annual leave, you can choose "Hours" or "Sessions".
Click the "Base Entitlement (days) *" field and add the base entitlement for annual leave. This should be the equivalent for an FTE worker. For example, 5 weeks annual leave should be added as 25 days, 4 weeks as 20 days and so on.
Add contract information about bank holidays. If your contract is written as 28 days including Bank Holidays then you should add "Yes". If your contracts are written 5 weeks plus bank holidays you should say "No". To find out more about the calculation of Bank Holiday entitlement head to our Blog. [https://practiceindex.co.uk/gp/blog/balancing-your-bank-holidays/](https://practiceindex.co.uk/gp/blog/balancing-your-bank-holidays/)
Click the "Working pattern repeat period (weeks)*" field. If your staff member works the same hours each week, choose "1" as the weekly pattern repeat. If your staff member works a rota pattern over more than one week, choose the appropriate number of weeks. Where a staff member works a pattern over more than one week, you will need to add a Monday date in which week one falls.
Add start and finish times for the staff members' working pattern and add any unpaid breaks that should be deducted.
Tip! Don't forget that Holiday Manager calculates leave in hours and minutes (HH:MM) and not decimals.
To copy working hours from one day to the next click this icon. If working hours vary simply add the hours for each day as you did in step 10.
Click "Save" to save the staff members' entitlement and working pattern.
To change the start date for their annual leave year if it does not match the practice default click "Settings".
Untick "Use Practice Annual Leave Year Start Date".
Add the date you want the staff members' annual leave year to start and then click "Save"
