Get a Canvas Observer Code (Using a Student Canvas Account)

Canvas is where the WCCC digitally contains a student's coursework, making all content available at any time as long as they have internet. Our students log in to Canvas using their school Gmail and password at wccc.instructure.com. Parents and other trusted guardians can "see" their student's courses & work with an "Observer Code." This gives parents the instructions how to get an Observer Code.

Have your student login to his or her Canvas courses at [wccc.instructure.com](https://wccc.instructure.com/)It will take them to their Canvas Dashboard, where you will see all of their available classes. Have them click **"Account."**

Then click **"Settings."**

Go to the far right of the screen and click **"Pair with Observer."**

It will create a code that will work for **SEVEN DAYS ONLY** after it has been created or for only one **Observer**. Copy the code and paste it somewhere handy so that you don't accidentally lose it and have to repeat this process. Click **"OK"** to make the **Pairing Code** active. (For student security reasons, you will need to create a new code for each person who wants to be an **Observer**.)
