There are a few different ways to apply for housing. First, you can click "apply for housing" that will appear in your Recommended Actions. You can also click on "Housing overview".

When accessing the applications, it will show you the application that corresponds to you. There are a couple of things to note when applying:

1. Currently, each campus will have their own application, so make sure that you are applying for the right campus.
2. When applying, there will be two different deadlines:
   1. An "initial" deadline when Residence Life will begin the room assignment/room selection process. You can still apply after this deadline, but may not be considered in the room selection process. 
   2. A "final" deadline when applications can no longer be submitted for the semester (this will typically be the last day of the semester)

To begin the application process, click "Apply now".

In this example, we are applying for the Beatrice Campus. You'll notice that the initial application deadline is March 1st, however, we are still able to fill out an application after the deadline. 

The first section will ask you about your building preference in terms of most to least favorable. After making your ranking, click Save and Continue.

The next section of the application will mostly be filled out already as it will pull in information from your Student Profile. If anything is incorrect, please correct it on the application and it will make the correction on your student profile.

If you will be on an athletic team, you can select the team that you will be a part of. This will make you eligible to reside in one of the rooms reserved for your athletic team. Please note that athletic beds will be reserved on the campus that the team is primarily located on, so if you are planning on living on a campus that your athletic team is not primarily based on, it is recommended to select "Not an Athlete" (this is automatically selected for everyone).

While it is encouraged for athletes to reside with teammates, this is not a requirement. If an athlete does not wish to live with teammates, we recommend keeping "Not an Athlete" selected to be able to select non-athletic rooms.

The next section is for additional information such as students who will be on internship or students who will need a housing accommodation. 

Note: for students who will be on internship for the whole semester, we recommend applying for the term that you will be living on campus (ex. a student on internship for the Fall semester would apply for the Spring session instead of the Fall session).

The next section is where you can decide whether or not to provide emergency contact information. You have the ability to opt-out of this if desired.

The last major section is the built-in Roommate Questionnaire that will be used to help you build a Roommate Profile and find roommates if desired. Residence Life will also use information gathered from these questions to make roommate placements past the room selection deadline.

You can also choose not to create a roommate group. In this case, we'll do our best to use the below preference information to match you.

The last section regards meal plans. By default, all residents will be automatically signed up for the 14-meal plan on their campus. Residents on campuses with the 19-meal plan can upgrade in eRezLife through the "My Meal Plans" tab.

Click "Save and continue" to continue to the last step of the housing application.

The last page of the housing application is the confirmation page. A few things to note about this page:

1. Two checkboxes will need to be clicked:
   1. Agreeing to the terms found in the Housing Contract
      1. You can access this by clicking on the "terms & conditions file" or by clicking on Resources on the left-hand side
   2. Agreeing that all information provided is accurate
2. In order to complete your housing application completely and be able to be assigned a room, you must pay the $150 Room Readiness fee. This is a non-refundable payment that will be used to cover expenses incurred for room turnover, free laundry, etc. For students who have not lived on campus before, this fee can be refunded if the housing application is canceled by the deadline for the corresponding semester.

Once you have checked both boxes, click "Submit application".

Your housing application is now submitted! This page is a confirmation/receipt of your application. Depending on when you submit your application, this will play into when you may be assigned your timeslot for selecting your room.
