    How to Highlight in Canva Using Effects

    Open the design where you want to highlight text.

    To add text, click on the "Text" icon found in the left hand toolbar and select one of the text styles from the text menu. A text box will appear on your design. Customize the text to your liking.

    Select the text you want to highlight and click on "Effects" in the top toolbar.

    Click on the "Background" effect to highlight the selected text. You can customize the roundness, spread, transperancy, color, and shape of the highlight using the customization options that appear when you click on the effect.

    Open you the design where you wish to highlight text. Add text if needed.

    Click on the "Elements" icon found in the left hand toolbar.

    Search for "highlight" and select the option you wish to use.

    Position the element to your liking. If needed, you can send the element behind the text by right-clicking on it and selecting "send to back" from the "Layer" options.

    Adjust the transparancy and color of the element to your liking using the format options found in the top toolbar.

    Choose the color you want to use by clicking on the "Color" option at the bottom of the drawing menu.

    Customize the weight and transperancy of the highlight by clicking on the "Settings" option at the bottom of the drawing menu.

    Highlight your text by dragging your cursor over the area you want to highlight.
