How do I add headers and footers to a Google Slides presentation?

Note: Google doesn't have a set option for a header and footer in slides but you can add headers and footers to Google Slides by adding text boxes with text to your slide theme. Here's how.

Google doesn't have an option for header / footer in slides but you can add a text box with preset text to your theme.
To add a textbox, click this icon

Select the square for your header and footer

Add the shape you the slides you want to have a header and footer on.

You'll want to remove the background color by selecting the paint bucket and setting the color to "Transparent"

To remove the border, click the pen icon and set it to transparent.

To add text to your header and footer, double click the shape and add your text.
