How to Access and Save Construction Information Service Documents

Navigate to [https://libguides.derby.ac.uk/home](https://libguides.derby.ac.uk/home) to access CIS from the library home page.

Click on the Databases button.

Click the "DATABASES" field. You can use the search box or click on C and scroll to Construction Information Service in the list.

Type "construction"

Click "Construction Information Service"

At the IHS homepage, click "The Construction Information Service - CIS" You will see that the system recognises you (your name will be displayed top left of the page).

Click the "Search for documents" field.

Here we are using the example "timber roof" to search for related documents.

You can change the display order of your results by using the drop-down menu. Here we are selecting newest first.

Scroll down the list until you find the document you are interested in. Click on the title ("SLL code for lighting") to show more information.

You can download the document: click "Download"

Or you can save the document to your own folder: click "Save to folder"

You can add to an existing folder or create a new one: Click "Add Folder"

Give the folder a name.

Click this button.the tick to save the folder.

Click "Save to folder". You will be able to see your saved documents whenever you log in to CIS.

Click "Projects"

Click "roof" (the name you gave the new folder).

Click "SLL code for lighting". You can now see the documents within that folder.
