Before adding error bars, ensure your data is well-organized
      2
Select the data you want to include in the chart You can highlight both the values and the error margins if you wish
      3
Click on the "Insert" menu in the top toolbar
      4
Select "Chart" from the dropdown Google Sheets will automatically generate a chart based on the selected data
      5
Once the chart is created, ensure it’s the appropriate type for adding error bars. Generally, scatter plots or line charts are the most common chart types where error bars are used If the chart doesn’t match your desired chart type, you can change it by clicking on the Chart Type dropdown in the chart editor on the right-hand side and selecting the appropriate chart type
      6
Click on the "Customise" tab to access customization options for your chart
      7
Under the "Customise" tab, scroll down to the "Series" section You may need to expand this section by clicking on the dropdown arrow next to "Series"
      8
Scroll down until you see an option labeled "Error bars" Click the checkbox next to "Error bars" to enable them

**Percentage:** This option adds error bars based on a percentage of each data point. For example, entering 10% will add an error bar that represents 10% of each data point’s value
      11
**Constant Value:** This option allows you to set the same error value for all data points. For example, if your error margin is always ±3, you can enter 3 in this box **Custom Values:** This allows you to use a separate column for error values for each data point. If you have a column of specific error values (like in the example data above), you can link the error values to each data point
