Click the yellow "Add Point" button on the left side of your map.
Click on the category you will assign this map point to.
Search for a place in the search bar. Click the location when it is listed in the dropdown. You can also copy and paste in lat/long coordinates.
Tip! You can also add a map point by double clicking anywhere on the map. This will allow you to zoom in and add places without addresses, like, a local hill to watch a sunset from, a parking lot or trail head.
If you enabled "Point Numbering" in the "Advanced Features" setting, you can assign any number 0-999 to a point. These numbers can replace map icons and are used for things like ratings, itineraries and walking tours.
Tip! Proxi will remind you what numbers you've already used if you let your mouse hover over the link provided.
Click on the "Details" drop down to add a "Point Title", "Point Description" and "Tags".
To add a "Point Title" - Type your preferred point title into the associated text box. When someone clicks on your point, this will appear in bold at the top of the description. To add a "Point Description" - Use the rich text box (allows you to create headers, bold, italicize, list and link) to type in a few sentences about the place you're adding. Tip! Proxi map viewers click on map points to get your unique insights about the place. Let your viewers know what you would specifically recommend about going there. To add "Point Tags" - Click on any point tag listed to associate it with the map point. Tip! To add "Tags" to choose from in this step, you need to first click on the "Categories and Tags" setting, and the "+" button under "Tags".
Click the "Actions" button to add ways your map viewers can interact further with this map point.
You can include a URL in the 'More Info' Link box. This will create a 'More Info' button that appears when a user clicks on a map point. Tip! This link can be an affiliate link, link to the place of business's website, or even back to a URL of your own content. If you are set up on Proxi Pro or above, we provide information on how many of your map viewers click on each 'More Info' link. You can also add in a 'Special Offer' or 'Promotion Code' if you've worked with the place of business to create one for your map.
Finally, you can click "Upload photo" to insert your own pictures of a place. If you upload your own photos, they will appear ahead of the Google Images we pull in for each place.
Click "Save" or "Save and add another". Your point will now appear on your map.
Alternative ways to add points: 1) Double click anywhere on the map. This brings up the "Add Point" form with the lat/long pre-loaded. 2) Use Spreadsheet view to copy and paste in new rows, which results in new points being added to your map. 3) Integrate with our APIs to keep your map automatically up to date.
