    Click "Gradebook"

    Click the overall grade icon.

    Click "Edit"

    By default, all items are sorted into categories. Choose the drop down arrow to open the folder and see the items within it.

    You have the option to either assign a percentage to the entire category of items, or to unlink each item from its category to apply an individual percentage to each respective item. Click this icon to begin unlinking.

    Repeat for all items you want to remove from categories.

    You may have to unlock the field before you can make any adjustments. Press the lock icon to lock or unlock an item.

    Begin applying percentages according to your syllabus weighting.

    Repeat until all percentages have been applied and the total at the bottom equals 100%.

    Review how the grade is displayed to students by choosing this drop down menu.

    Click "Percentage"

    If you want students to see their overall grade as the course is in progress, choose '"show to students" otherwise, leave this option unchecked.

    Click "Save"

    Your overall grade column will now display to students according to your syllabus' weighted grading scheme. If you keep this column hidden, only you (the instructor) will see this column.
