If you want to require validation for check-ins, ensure the **"Validate Check-Ins"** box is checked. You can choose from the following validation methods:
1. **4-Digit Code:** Each participating location is automatically assigned a unique 4-digit code (which you can edit). Distribute these codes to participating locations for display. When participants arrive, they open their challenge link from their email, select the location, click **"Check In,"** and enter the 4-digit code.\
*Note:* Every location will be assigned a 4-digit code, whether you use this method or not. If you choose not to use it, simply ignore the codes.
2. **QR Code (Recommended):** Each location is automatically assigned a unique QR code. Distribute these codes for display at participating locations. Participants simply scan the QR code with their mobile device, and check-in happens automatically—no need to search for their challenge link in an email.
- *Bonus:* If a participant hasn’t registered yet, scanning the QR code will take them to the registration form before automatically checking them in.
3. **Geolocation:** Participants can check in when they are within a set distance of a location (you determine the range). To check in, they open their challenge link from their email, navigate to the challenge page, and click **"Check In."** They will be allowed to check into nearby locations based on the distance settings you configured.
💡 *You can also enable multiple check-in methods! For example, participants could check in via both geolocation and QR code, giving them flexibility in how they participate.*
