    How to Create an Announcements Forum in Moodle

      To start make sure that "Edit mode" enabled.

      With edit mode enabled click "Add an activity or resource". You will want to do this where you want the Announcement tab located.

      Select the Forum activity.

      Name the new forum "Announcements".

      Click the 'Expand all" button.

      Make sure that the setting "Subscription mode" is set to Forced subscription under the "Subscription and tracking" tab. This will force students to get notifications when you make a post to the forum.

      Once you have set the subscription mode, click "Save and display".

      To add an announcement, go into the forum and hit "Add discussion topic"

      Type out your announcement in the forum.

      Once you are done hit "Post to forum. Once you post the announcement students will receive a notification that you made a post to the forum
