How to Download and Launch Zotero for a Mac and Chrome

Navigate to [zotero.org](//zotero.org)

The download option(s) should reflect your individual operating system (mac or PC), and also for your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.). First you want to download the application on your computer (in this example, "Zotero 7 for Mac")

Open the download.

When the download initiates, it will open a new folder/window. After the download is complete, select "Zotero" app and drag it to the folder beside it.

After dragging the app, it will open up your Applications folder. Next, double-click "Zotero" app to begin working in Zotero.

Click "Open"

Next, add the browser extension (this is important, don't forget to do this step!).

In the browser extension "store", click "Add to Chrome"

Click the Add extension button

Click the puzzle piece to the right of the URL bar in the browser, in the drop-down, click the push-pin icon to "pin" the Zotero Connector to your browser bar.

When you locate an article that you would like to save, click the Save to Zotero browser extension- it will look like a piece of paper.

The article information should automatically load into Zotero. The gray box will appear with article information.

You can organize the article while in the browser extension. Select "Done" when you are done!
